Therapy

I am NOT currently accepting new therapy clients, but feel free to contact me if you are in need of assessment services.

My Approach

If you’ve thought about meeting with a therapist and have been putting it off, now is the time to give it a try. Therapy won’t solve all of your problems overnight, and I won’t tell you how to live your life or what decisions to make. But there is a lot to be said for voicing your thoughts out loud to someone who has no personal connection to your life choices. Beyond just listening, I offer a professional perspective regarding what the underlying issues are and work collaboratively with you to identify a plan for change. And unlike a lot of other therapists, I use a direct and humorous approach to providing interpersonal feedback, meaning that I will share my personal opinions and reactions with you and you’ll never have to guess what I’m thinking. My clients have found my therapeutic approach refreshing and empowering and have been able to make great progress toward goals of self-improvement and overcoming trauma as a result of being able to establish a strong, trusting relationship with me.

Currently I provide teletherapy services only. I’ve gained extensive experience in providing therapy via electronic means since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have found that I am able to develop the same level of rapport and trust with my clients as I was when working in person, and I ensure confidentiality in all communications. Teletherapy also affords you the convenience of being able to meet from whatever private location you feel most comfortable without worrying about travel time.

Clinical Interests

I work with individuals age 18 and up, covering the adult lifespan. I enjoy working with individuals who are transitioning to new phases of life, managing relationship issues, exploring their identities and values, and developing self-worth and self-confidence. Additional presenting concerns I feel confident working with include: anxiety, depression, sexual assault and relationship violence, academic and career performance concerns, sexual orientation and gender identity exploration, various types of grief and loss, fertility issues, and family of origin and childhood abuse concerns.

*Please be aware that I do not provide after-hours crisis services. However, you can access crisis support by calling 800-273-8255 or texting HOME to 741741, or by calling 911 in the event of a life-threatening emergency.

Rates and Insurance

I am currently in network with United Healthcare, MedCost, and Cigna/Evernorth. Insurance-designated co-payments are due at the time of service. For clients with other types of insurance, I am happy to provide a detailed bill to submit for insurance reimbursement. For those paying out of pocket, my therapy rates are as follows:

  • Full 60-minute therapy hour: $175
  • 30-minute check-in for established clients: $87.50

Next Steps

If you’ve decided to take the next step and explore the possibility of working with me, congratulations! I know it is not easy to ask for help or to face challenges that you might have been avoiding until now. To assist you with making this decision, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get to know me and my approach and we can discuss what you’re hoping to work on in therapy. If I’m not the right therapist for you, I will be happy to offer referrals to other therapists in the area. To schedule a 15-minute consultation, call me at (336) 600-2333 or complete the contact form here to get in touch.
